Project Profile
As the oldest stadium in the Pac-12 Conference, the goal of this $280 million dollar renovation was to keep it the same, but make it better. The picture perfect stadium, located on the shores of Lake Washington, received a brand new Football Operations Support Building, premium seating, south grandstand, concession stands, restrooms, lobby, elevator roofs and a 200-stall parking garage, along with other renovations to the existing stadium.
This project was developed with a limited budget and schedule as well as design challenges for long term functionality and performance. Snyder worked with Turner Construction to develop alternate options for the below grade bentonite, split slab hot rubber, and PVC roof assemblies to significantly reduce costs and expedite schedule. In addition, the solutions provided reduced ongoing maintenance needs from the designed system.
Challenges included close coordination with other trades and pushing schedules where possible. We performed on site field tests in coordination with manufacturers and consultants to expedite cure times and staffed the project with multiple crews to work at various locations throughout a large site. Project specific quality control processes were developed by Snyder to reduce closeout and punch-list items on our scope upon completion.
