Project Profile
Arlington Club
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Historic building, home to private social club organized in 1867 by 35 business and banking leaders of Portland, needed roof replacement
Previous repairs and maintenance performed by Snyder’s service department gave Snyder the insight needed for re-roofing this complex, historical building. A full tear-off of the existing roof system down to the concrete deck was followed by the installation of a SBS built-up roof assembly. The project also required coordination with seismic upgrades as well as mechanical work. This coordination included activities on the roof, but given the downtown location and active streets below, also encompassed logistics and shared crane activity with other trades, which was limited to weekends, and was critical to ensuring that work throughout each week of the project would progress as scheduled. Surrounded by residential buildings, the public paid close attention to this project. Snyder’s attention to safety and consideration for not just its crews but also the surrounding public was never a question. Ultimately, the project was completed and will provide this historic building with reliable protection from the elements for decades to come.
